Theodor Tobler had a hunch right from the beginning that his new product was destined for great fame. Concerned that someone else might imitate his product and threaten the success of TOBLERONE, his company, then Tobler AG, applied for a patent for the TOBLERONE manufacturing process in Bern in 1906. And so TOBLERONE became the first patented milk chocolate with almonds and honey.
The name TOBLERONE was also registered as a brand name in Switzerland in 1909. Today, TOBLERONE's world-famous name, its packaging and its triangular shape - its true symbol - are registered brands in many countries throughout the world. |
